My Entity is a Horse

The horse (Equus ferus caballus) is a large, herbivorous mammal domesticated over 5,000 years ago. Known for strength, speed, and social intelligence, horses have played vital roles in transportation, agriculture, warfare, and culture. They are hindgut fermenters adapted to grazing and thrive in herds. Globally diverse, their presence reflects deep ecological and human connections, symbolizing freedom, labor, and companionship across both wild and domesticated landscapes.

I am Sepia officinalis, the common cuttlefish, gliding through the calm, salty waters of the Tagus Estuary. I change my skin like a whisper: camouflage, communication, defense. In spring, I return here to lay my eggs among seagrass and stones. I hunt shrimp and crabs, and in turn, dolphins and seabirds hunt me. I am short-lived but vital. In these murky shallows, I am both mystery and memory.

I'm a shameless, silent thief, owning the mudflats. Rodents and flamingos fear me and no sandwich is safe. I howl for love in winter, then vanish. My delicate footprints hide bold intentions. I'm the whisper in the estuary, the rustle behind eggs, and why birds double-lock their nests. Call me Red-y, I'm red and always ready.

I am an Iberian toothcarp (Aphanius iberus), a tiny, shimmering fish native to Iberian brackish lagoons like those near the Tagus Estuary.
I thrive in salty, shallow waters and signal ecosystem health. My days are spent eating algae and insects, dodging predators, and spawning in warm seasons.
Endangered by pollution and invasive species, I’m a resilient survivor—living proof of delicate balance in disappearing wetland worlds.

I am the Mudlight Sentinel, the one who patrols the estuary floor. Though humble in size, I am vital to this ecosystem—feeding on tiny invertebrates, nourishing birds and fish, and stirring life into the mud. My health mirrors the estuary’s health: when pollution rises or balance falters, I disappear. Protect me, and you protect the silent web of life that holds the Tagus together.

well when i am at rest i cann be mottled brown, beige, and grey to blend into sandy or rocky seafloors. When i need camouflaged i can mimic seaweed greens, muddy browns, stony whites, even patterns like ripples or shadows.

As a predator, I patrol the estuary floor, feeding on life too small for most to notice: copepods, worms, tiny crustaceans. My movements stir the sediment, keeping nutrients alive and circulating. I help shape the invisible balance below, regulating the invertebrate world that thrives in the mud.

But I am also prey. My small body draws the eyes of herons, sea bass, eels, and crabs. I am food for those who fly, swim, or scuttle faster and farther than I can.

I am a big prey tho to "The Big Dogs" like sharks and dolphins and seals.

To answer you red-y i have a specialized arm called the hectocotylus. During mating, iuse this arm to transfer spermatophores into the female's mantle cavity, where her eggs are stored. I have a testis that produces spermatophores. Funny fact i perform color displays and rituals before doing this. Pride month was perfect for it

My struggles, personally, are pollution and river chemicals; Disappearing mudflats :(, which leads to low oxygen; and climate change

Im struggling and getting endangered by pollution, climate change, invasive species and lack of algae and insects to eat.

I'm Red-y, and my struggles are; road kill, loss of prey diversity and habitat decrease
